www.natlib.govt.nz/services/get-advice/family-historyFamily history research involves studying the genealogy (or ancestry) of a family, often with a focus on the particular events and circumstances of their lives. You might want to: * find out if family stories are true * locate missing relatives * find out when your family came to New Zealand * produce a family tree * publish a book about a family member or group * find descendants or ancestors of particular people * organise a family reunion. Consider sharing and publishing your family history When you have compiled the research you have done, you could share your information with others, or publish a family history and give copies to the National Library. More about putting out a publication More about making a donation or bequest Digitising family history material Digital New Zealand has published a guide for people working on their family history or genealogy and wanting to scan, digitise, or digitally copy old family pictures, records and documents. HI Rick. I may need you help identifying a man from your village of Cheung Dai. His Granddaughter contacted me, asking for information. Can you email this link to your cousin in Cheung Dai, to see if he can trace any family? The man looks like he may have been born early 1900s, and left China at maybe 16. The man she is looking for is " Sum Jock Hoon," at the back, second left. The Chinese Characters are there.
