Directing Readers to a Specific Post

There is so much information within this site. After 1/2 a decade of sharing and posting, a lot of resources can be found deep within the numerous posts and threads. Frequently the title belies the wealth of information within the thread, since the nature of forums are much like a party conversation, meandering through various topics as different people discuss their mutual interests.
Frequently I want to reference a very specific post. The original author provided a better description and I want to attribute credit to that author. In the past, I would simply copy the URL at the top of the page and reference the reply number:
siyigenealogy.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=names&action=display&thread=752&page=7 see reply # 91
See the red circled area in the photo below for where I found the URL at the top of the photo. Whereas there is nothing wrong with this technique, sometimes newbies don't know to scroll down to reply # 91.
Realize that this particular thread is still very active since 2008 and has over 8 pages. See the black circle on the left.
A more precise (but not easier) 'posting' reference technique is to append the post number '#5960' directly to the end of that same link. The reader can click on that link and navigate directly the specific post.
siyigenealogy.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=names&action=display&thread=752&page=7#5690
To find the post number for philiptanci's reply #91, click on the 'quote' link circled in blue on the right side of the photo above. You will get the reply page pictured below. You only need to use this reply page temporarily. See the red circled '5690' at the top of the message section. That is the post number you need to copy, after which you will navigate away from this reply page.
Append that number with a '#' sign to the very end of URL you captured at the top of the very first picture. It should look like this:
siyigenealogy.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=names&action=display&thread=752&page=7#5690
Hope this helps. Of course, you could fancy up the link even further by following this post:
Topic: help on posting hyperlinks or siyigenealogy.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=tips&action=display&thread=1130
Therefore, I would have modified philiptanci reply # 91 as:
Common Ancestor with Surname Chen. Be careful, because some users may not have the ability to click directly on these links and will have to copy and paste the URL into their address box.
Hope that helps for those who want to fancy up their postings.
