Good job Fay Chee, this appears to be the marker.
冼厚信 (name: Xian Hou Xin) 鹤山 (He Xin) 平嶺 (Ping Ling)
Note the date: 7-7-63 vs. 7-31-63
Will check about the variation of couple of Chinese characters.

Thanks lachinatown, So He Xin is Heshan which is also Hok Shan??? and Xian is the same as Sien/Sen? Have you ever heard a name like Hou Xin?
When I searched FamilySearch for any Xian Zupus, they had four (3 from 1910 and one from 1984) but all listed under Nanhai, Guangdong.....when I googled Nanhai and Hok Shan, they looked pretty far apart, so I guess this is not the same family lineage.

冼厚信 (Xian Hou Xin) [One Cantonese romanization: Sin Hau Seun] Hou = greatly or generous, Xin = trust or true 鹤山 (He Shan) [Hok Saan] Crane, Mountain or hill or peak 平嶺 (Ping Ling) [Ping Leng or Ling] Level or peaceful, Mountain ridge or mountain peak
You are right Fay Chee, 山 is Shan. I must have written it incorrectly. Sorry.
It gets confusing with the romanization.
Googling shows various company names, example: 厚信酒窖=Hou Xin Wines Cellar. Google doesn't show a Xian HouXin, but with other more popular surnames, for example 林厚信 or Lin Houxin.
So Jackie Robinson is there too.

Oh..........I see, Jackie Robinson is buried at Cypress Hills Cemetery like Mara's dad! Wish I had known this earlier as I would have looked for his grave too! But it is pretty far (blue star) from the Chung Wah section. Fay Chee Attachments:

Such a large cemetery. And the good company of Jackie Robinson. Perhaps my extended family could be there too. I wish they had the list online. Guess I can ask about those "Sien" names but finding the connection might be difficult. I will call them. msen

DL, Sorry about the cultural references. We have to remember this is a world wide forum. Jackie Robinson was the first Afro-American who was able to break the race barrier to become a professional league American baseball player. His story is just being released as the movie 42, which is his jersey number. The big star in the movie is Harrison Ford as a sports executive. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/42_%28film%29DJ

Ahh, finally a question I can assist with ; )
Jackie Robinson was the first African American to play in USA Major League Baseball. So, he played for the Brooklyn Dodgers starting in 1947. And he played in 6 World Series and received numerous awards for his abilities. His number, 42, was retired but on his "day" the team, each of them, wear it to honor him. A new movie will be out with the title "42" , and I hope it is as good as it sounds. Our family is originally from Brooklyn and 20 + years later, we still keep track of the the Yankees... Robinson did much more than breaking the color barrier for BB. He continued to be an activist for his race and died not long after his son passed. They are buried next to each other and thousands went to the cemetery, where a parkway is named for him. Hope I can learn a little bit about my fathers life from the association or village ... msen

Thanks to DJ and Mara for alerting me to Jackie Robinson, the iconic American athlete. I believe the Americans called professional baseball players as ball-players. The only other two ball-players I have a faint notion of are Babe Ruth and Joe Di Maggio.

Wonderful news for Mara!!!!
Mara is so excited that she asked me to post this news for her..........I am also having tearful eyes for her as our stories are so similar in every way.......
As you know, Laohuaqiao is in the Kaiping area and through the kindness of his heart, took time out from his vacation to find out if there is a village called Pingling.
So here it is........answers to our questions:
"I visited Pingling today. Your father was the eldest of 5 brothers. The youngest brother is in his 80s and still alive. He, his children and grandchildren are living in Hong Kong. I met 2 of your cousins, children of the 4th brother in Pingling. The older one was born in 1950 and he knows of you 2 sisters.
Your father's name Xian (Sen) Houxin on the tombstone is his generation name. Hou is the generation character. He is listed in the Xian genealogy book. His given name is Zhuosheng (Cheuk San in Cantonese), Cheuk became his American name Chuck. His brothers' names are Houbo, Houcheng, Houwang, and Houri (Shaoguang).
Jimmy Sien's Chinese name is Houzhong and his 4 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren are all in Hong Kong. Jimmy's grandfather, your father's grandfather and Choy Sen's father were brothers. "
So, just like me, Mara has found her Chinese family after all of these years of not knowing..........we thank all of the generous and kind-hearted people on this forum, for providing us with guidance, encouragement, and peace of mind and heart. We can never thank you enough.
Fay Chee and Mara Sen

This is great news. Getting access to your jiapu is the Holy Grail of Chinese genealogy. I hope she tries to get a copy of the complete lineage of her clan. If not, she should emphasize copying sections 11,12,13 as discussed in This Wiki: Jiapuclick . It is important, if she cannot read Chinese, to have someone label or bookmark the page where her ancestor is located. Most Chinese-Western family historians stop their research at this point, having fulfilled their wish to find a link to their ancestors from China. (possession is 9/10's of the law). However, using your jiapu to trace and correlate your lineage through the world's historical events, you will get a sense of what might have gone through your ancestors' mind as they made family and life decisions which eventually brought you to your point in this world.

Yes Doug, I can't wait to be able to do that. Currently, as Laohuaqiao and Fay Chee are aware, I am with a close cousin who is in hospice. Her last wish was to have our family reconnect and stay in touch for the future. All of this wonderful news will now allow that to happen. Thank you for the gift of family. Soon my Sis will join the forum and the journey continues.
