Gok Wan, is a well known face on our small screens after a series of television ads. he did for a chain store here. He has a Chinese father and an English mother. This is the first episode of his first trip to China. It is very entertaining. Helen, look out for Xintang your hometown away from Auckland. It is featured prominently. Xintang has a big jeans manufacturing base, it is also known as Jeanstown. It explains why the river water is black ( see my Excellent Adventures report last year.) www.sbs.com.au/ondemand/video/121631299735/Gok-Wan-Made-In-China

Still interested in Gok Wan? here he is again. iview.abc.net.au/programs/one-plus-one#playing It is an interesting conversation. The host Jane Hutcheon, born and grew up in Honk Kong, speaks fluent Cantonese. Jane Hutcheon's family has a long involvement with China in early years of East and West contact. Both her great-grandmothers were Chinese. Listen and enjoy. Be quick because it is only for a limited time only.
