Both your ancestral villages are located in the old Sanba (Three Eight) zhen (subdivision)which has now been mostly placed into Baisha zhen (subdivision). The Chen village is Shuikeng and would be found in Chongpan greater village/xiang. The Yu village is Yanzhong? and is probably found in Shuibian greater village/xiang.

Please share your findings with us rustynail. Are the villages on a map? Or just the bigger administrative villages shown?

I believe that Yanzhong and Shuibian are the same place, or that Yanzhong is a hamlet within Shuibian. I recall that the Fung Toy Monthly had a listing of Yee villages in the Old Sanba market region and that the natural village was listed as Shuibian-Yanzhong {village}.

Very good rustynail. How did you come up with the name 銀中 Yinzhong ? It was written by my father " shuibian yinzhong", initially I thought it was a 4 chars word of the village, until mhyee replied that yinzhong is in shuibian.

Hello Rustynail. My mistake, your father is right. I believe that this a "four character name" village and that you have found the right village on the map! I remember thinking it rare to find a four character name but I believe that Shuibian is the more common form. Please see my previous posting.
