Could someone plse help me to trace this place? Apparently, this is where my late grand father-in-law came from and as I will be visiting China come July, I would like to bring my husband to visit this village if it still exists.
Thank you very much.

Do you have more details than just the village name?
Is this it? Tian Ban Cun, Wuxing Qu, Huzhou Shi, Zhejiang Sheng China

Unfortunately I do not hv a clue. My parents-in-law were born in Malaysia - only their parents were fr this place - as inscribed on their tomb headstones. The place you mentioned - isn't that in Guangdong? Pardon my ignorance. Thanks
PS- their village might not have existed now - or maybe renamed.

No, the one I posted is in Northern China, near Shanghai. Yes, the overseas Chinese in the early days came from Southern China, mostly Guangdong.
What else shown on headstone? Does it read Guangdong?

Anne,
Would it be possible for you to post a photo of the tombstone to verify the name of the village? Based on your username I assume you are Hakka; do you know what Hakka dialect you speak as it would narrow the search?

If Hakka, then it could be located at 中国福建省三明市大田县, Zhōngguó (China), Fújiàn shěng, Sānmíng shì, Dàtián xiàn or China Sanming Datian County.
