Hello there. I'm wondering if anyone came from 施 family who are descendants of Shi Tiao Geng from this article, I read that many of the Shi clan family migrated to Singapore and still keep in touch with their family in Zhangzhou. I want to reconnect with the family members to fill some questions I have with my genealogical findings. Since I live in Indonesia, I can visit singapore anytime to reconnect with my family members there.

Hi Michel. Your family name is the same as my family name. I knew a little about my ancestor, and I do not speak Mandarin. I live in Canada now, but I was born in Central Java, Indonesia. Based on my father note book, my ancestor was also from ZhangZhou. Lately, I watched CTGN documentary film on you tube, telling a story of one family in Amsterdam that was tracing back their Chinese roots. From the documentary film, I learned something regarding the Ancestor Hall, Clan Title, and Xiamen Branch Overseas Chinese Federation. I tried to google the Federation website trying to make a contact but could find anything about their website. One small thing I learned, there is what they call Clan Title to trace back our "family branch". At first, I also have the same idea as that family in Amsterdam. There is a note on my father's note book stating "hong shan". I thought this was the name of the village, but I think this is the name of the clan title. Based on this clan title maybe somebody in that Federation can trace back my ancestor's village. Just for curiosity, I am also trying to trace back my Chinese ancestor so that at least my father's genealogy book will mean something. It is a pity that most of our father's relatives are gone.
