A Chinaman who rejoices in the name of Kim Tee, arrived yesterday in town,to get a warrant for a person whom he denominated a ' gentleman,' and who by his appearance it would seem might pass for such, and who on the evening before without "by your leave" rode off with the Chinaman's horse, foal, saddle, bridle, whip, clothes and whole kit. Both parties happened to have camped on Tarrawinaba Station, at the same spot, and the "gentleman" was already provided with a nag, but still coveted the poor man's property, and, the wish being father to the thought, he acted accordingly. The Chinaman, who is a most intelligent specimen of the Mongolian race, has given, I understand, a very minute description of the robber, which, with the brands of the horses, if found in his possession, will it is hoped lead to the capture of the daring thief. trove.nla.gov.au/newspaper/article/75514188?searchTerm=%22Kim%20Tee%22&searchLimits= The Darling Downs Gazette and General Advertiser (Toowoomba, Qld. : 1858 - 1880) Saturday 1 April 1865 p 2 Article

MARRIAGE IN High LIFE. — Drayton appears destined to attain considerable notoriety as being the site chosen by a number of Celestials to enter the holy state of matrimony, and to fulfil in its entirety the divine command, "multiply and replenish the earth." On Monday Drayton presented a gay and busy aspect. A number of subjects of the Celestial empire, docked in their best attire, perambulated the streets. Invocations were freely and audibly addressed to their deities, that every conceivable blessing might descend upon the ceremony that day to be performed the celebration of the nuptials of Mr. Kim Tee. Shortly before two o'clock the party proceeded in due order to the residence of the reverend the Registrar of the town of Drayton and district of Darling Downs. The necessary preliminaries having been duly arranged, the reverend gentleman proceeded in a firm but dignified manner to read the service appointed for the " solemnization of matrimony,"—the ring, of massive gold, was adjusted upon the fore finger of the lady's left hand, the fatal words in reply to the dread question " wilt thou have this man to be thy wedded husband," &c,—I will—were feebly pronounced, and the Gordian knot, so frequently prolific of sorrow, was indissolubly tied. The nuptial party then proceeded to their appointed residence, where the marriage feast was displayed with unusual splendour, and a brilliant but mongrel assemblage of Celestials and Europeans vied with each other as to who could display the greatest gastronomic ability in honour of the occasion. trove.nla.gov.au/newspaper/article/3715963?searchTerm=%22Kim%20Tee%22&searchLimits= The Moreton Bay Courier (Brisbane, Qld. : 1846 - 1861) Saturday 22 November 1856 p 3 Article
