Hi all,
My paternal ancestors came from a village called Chiu Yeung in Taishan. (Phonetically: "Cheew Yeung) They had surnames Chan, Yung, and Moy for as long as we know. I did a bit of searching on the forums but it seems as if there isn't that much info or discussion of this particular village. Doing a Google maps search, it yielded multiple villages with the name "Chiu Yeung" in the Taishan/Guangdong region.
Anyone have any info such as a location/map and/or photos of this village? Or better yet, does anyone know how I can get my hands on the "genealogy book" for this particular village?

Moyclan, I provided you with a link to the map location of your Chen/Chan ancestral village in the genealogy thread. Since the Chinese government never kept such records, the village is the best place to get a copy of the village genealogy book - if it exists, i.e., it was not destroyed by the Red Guards during the Cultural Revolution. If there is a local Chen/Chan clan association in Duanfen town, nearest large town to your ancestral village - they may have already incorporated the lineages from your ancestral village into a larger Chen/Chan genealogy book with lineages for the local area. Perhaps if there is a Chen/Chan clan association in Taicheng - they may have published a genealogy bookset that has consolidated Chen/Chan lineages for Taishan County. This past November, I visited and bought the 2016 2 volume set of Chen / Chan lineages for Guangdong province from the Chen ancestral hall in Zhujixiang for a Chen friend. If you are able to locate a copy of your family lineage that traces up 30 + generations to Chen Feng Tai,considered by many to be the first Chen progenitor for Guangdong province - you can get the previous 117 generations, compiled by my friend Dr. Philip Tan (Chen) from the progenitor section of this Forum: siyigenealogy.proboards.com/thread/845/chen-tan-chan-chin-clanHenry
