Tracing the family lineage of the 曾 from 金門

I’m certainly much impressed with the effort of the moderators and all parties to help trace the lineage of families

I’m writing in hope that I could obtain help in locating my family lineage. I’m the fourth generation of the 曾 family from 金門...

My great grandfather came to Malaya from 金門... According to my father, he decided to leave due to the cultural revolution. He first landed at Kelantan and his tomb is in Wakaf Bahru, Kelantan. My family members and I have lost our Jiapu here in Malaya during the war which makes tracing harder. I am hoping to locate my lineage in hope to educate my son who is the fifth generation about our family tree.

My great grandfather goes by the name of Chan Hoi Siew. As for now our family members are not to sure whether he his siblings back there. Can any of the moderators point me a way where I can begin locating my lineage. I’m not Chinese educated but one of my brothers are and I’m trying to get the Chinese characters of my great grand father.

I am hoping if any of the moderators is able to give me pointers on how do I begin my search back to my lineage on the mainland would be very very much appreciated
