Hi , I'm new so I hope to be excused if I break any rules posting here. We've lost contact with our relatives in China in the 80's and this is one of the addresses we found that may be able to help us track them down. We are not able to find this places in our research. I am first to admit, we are just scratching the surface but are already stumped with the address. I am not very good at deciphering cursive penmanship but correct me if i'm reading this correctly. We are also aware that the pinyin might be based on the local language's pronunciation. Correct me if I'm reading this wrongly: Yim Tan Village Engling Township Shi Shi City Fukien

Hi Lompr,
Do you have the address in Chinese characters?

Is Yim Tan should be Yim Jan? looks like J, not T.
Shishi 石狮市 Quanzhou, Fujian China

Hi Philip,
Sadly, this is the only written form that I have for this particular address. The other addresses that I got translated were for Amoy/Xiamen or Hong Kong so it's not even close to this one.
lachinatown,
hmm. Is there a place whose name comes close to even Yim Jan? I was thinking that they probably weren't using standard pinyin translation and based them on local pronunciation.

This is the closest I got to making sense of this address. I guess it would be wishing too much for anyone to recognise the village name. Xie xie nin. this forum is very helpful to people such as me.
