Thanks all we now have the interpretation here with the name of the person the letter was sent to in Donghu.
We have since found that our Fathers name likely Aue Hang Yen Immigration Oct 36, 1922 He listed himself on Newfoundland census 1945 as Hong Yen which is more likely. Aue Hong Yen DONGHU
He sent letter to a family member Au Ming Xiao she lived in Donghu.
The question is are there cemetery records in Donghu or Chiszui that can be accessed to see if he has relatives listed on death records please

We are traveling there and it would mean so much to our family to be able to trace our roots . We know where to travel to but if any living relatives

Hi: From what I can see on the internet, it looks like Donghu (Cantonese: Doong Woo)is full of Au clan members--and potential relatives. I'm sure someone there can help you. If you go to this webpage and scroll down, you can see a group of Au clan members in front of the Au ancestral temple. The temple is obviously active and it can be a source of information for you if you are able to go there. media.wj.kpbtv.com:89/kprmt_html/kkp/8579.shtmlGreg

I’m just finding this site/thread and my family are Au in St. John’s NL! Did you travel and find your ancestral village? It may be our family is from there as well.
