Hi, I understand that the surname of 劉/刘 is also translated to Liu, Lao, Lau, Low, Lauw, Lieu, Liew, Liw, Loo, Lew & Liou depending on the dialect.
My grandfather is from Macau with the name of 'Leo Suening' the name he use in my Dad's birth certificate in the Philippines. My yDNA results tells me that Leo are related to Lew. I often see surnames of Leo from time to time but don't know
Questions: 1. which province/dialect are Leo's originated from? 2. since when did it changed from the common Liu/Lao/Lau/Lew? 3. anyone here with the same surname (Leo)?
Thanks you for your assistance.
