Love the wikimap Helen thanks for posting it Hi Harc3 - How are you? I labeled some of the areas a while back. Not sure if you can add anything at your end. When are you making your next trip to China? Hopefully you can do it again soon. Merry Christmas to you and yours, and a Happy New Year.

Hi Helen,
Not sure if you’re still active on here. I’m a Wong from Zengcheng xintang as well and we are a family based in Auckland. We have family in Wellington as well and Hamilton I think. I’m not entirely sure what our village in Xintang was called however my extended family speaks Shatou dialect of cantonese and refer to our village as the “Wong village”
Hope to hear more from you to see how closely related we are and perhaps our family actually knows of each other.
If my family in Auckland was ever mentioned to anyone else in NZ they probably know my dad as the owner of a large chain of bakeries/cafes.

They are from Shatou. My husband's first cousin is also from there. I have met your family once before. Also have a female relative who is from there. My husband is from the 2nd Wong village, right next door - Gwe Leng I used to hang out here a while ago - when I was doing research for our books. I am in Auckland. Cheers - good to make contact.
