Recently I have been doing a lot of data entry into my genealogy program (I got a hold of my surname jiapu, which has significantly increased my to-do list) and I started using this site: www.mdbg.net/chindict/chindict.php?page=chardictI found this all-in-one site a much better dictionary than the one I previously used: www.chinese-tools.com/tools/dictionary.htmlWhen I paste in the Chinese character, it gives me not only the pinyin, but the Cantonese romanization (in Jyutping & Yale style), traditional character variant, stroke order and other things I know not with what to do. Ahgin and Helen had previously posted this site in the past. I want to add to their endorsement.

I also refer to this site whenever I can't find a suitable or I need more meanings: www.yellowbridge.com/chinese/Once you are in this page, click the Chinese-English Talking Dictionary link and it'll lead you to a page with three selections for your query: English to Chinese, Chinese to English, and PinYin. I especially like the Character Search tool with hand writing recognition features as it allows me to copy/transcribe the character on the pad. I don't even need to upload or install any software on my computer! The only drawback is that it's supported by ads so you will find something else that comes along. Ziqing
