Hi Philip Its great what you are doing here. Many thanks for the advice. Sure thing, we can meet up when I get to Kuala lumpur. Our trip is in planning at the moment and unfortunately, much as I wouldn't mind attending the workshop,(should like to visit Singapore again)I shall be in Canberra most of December till year's end. I've requested full scans of the paperwork so hopefully that will help more; probably just need to find someone to decipher it all. Yes, we should keep in touch. Will

Hello,
My name is Andy. And I'm from New York City.
I was wondering if anyone has the 族譜 (zúpǔ) for the Lin/Lim/Lam/Lum (林) Clan from 四九鄉潮陽村 (Chaoyang Village, Sijiu Township) or could help me research my lineage from my paternal great grandfather (my paternal grandmother's father) and his 林 (Lin/Lim/Lam/Lum) family lineage?
His name was 林举佷 (Jǔ Hěn) or 林洋佷 (Yáng Hěn). He had a younger brother or sister named 林銀伏 (Yín Fú).
林洋佷 (Yáng Hěn) was born on November 15, 1912. And 林銀伏 (Yín Fú) was born on July 2, 1913.
Lastly, I checked with my local Lin/Lim/Lam/Lum (林) Associations and they don't have 族譜 (zúpǔ).
I don't know how to receive notifications from siyigenealogy but you have any information, feel free to email me at tomguojie@gmail.com referencing this thread.
Best Regards, Andy

Hi, does anyone know where 林延皓(870~936年) falls in the Lin family tree?

Hi Jennylin, Looking at the attached chart which I had designed and constructed , my guess is that 林延皓 could be one of the sons of either of Song Gong (松公) or Xu Gong (栩公). You see the sons of their brother Zan Gong are Yan Lu (延魯), Yan Ji (延吉) and Yan Bin (延賔). They have the same middle name Yan (延) as 林延皓. The time period (870~936) is also within that you had quoted. If you look at Lin Dao (林藻), the second of the nine dragons, I have him to be at 791 AD but he is two generations earlier. Where actually is your ancestral place village in China?

Hi My mother's family moved to Singapore and surname was Lim (林) from Hainan Island, China. I believe this was between 1930 to 1950. My grandfather's generation name was Yu. And my uncles is Ming ( 明). Could you tell me of the Lims of Hainan Island and their move to Singapore?

Hi phillip:
There appear to be some Lim genealogies from Hainan on the Family Search website but you will need to know more specifically where on Hainan your mother's family lived.

I apologize in advance if this isn't the right place to post this - happy to move elsewhere if needed. I'm in search of documentation/zupu of my paternal grandfather's ancestry, and I don't know much other than that his ancestral home was in 湖西汕头市潮南区. I had a chance to visit the home in ~2014 but very sadly I've lost the photos from my visit. I also have his name and father's name (my great grandfather) and birth/death years, in the picture attached. I'd be so grateful if anyone has any leads on this, or ideas on where I could look further. Thanks in advance!

Tony King of the US is in Kuala Lumpur now since March 2022 and shall be leaving for South Korea at the end of June 2022. Below is the Revision 3 of Tony’s grandmother’s Lim/Lin (林) ancestral chart till the Fujian first Lim/Lin (林) ancestor Lin Lu (林祿). Her lineage is descended from the first of the Nine Dragons (九牧). I am still revising as and when he provides me with further details. I have his permission to share.

Hi Philip Not sure if its my browser but I can't seem to see the 3 charts you mentioned posting here;-
LIM Lu Gong (林祿公) down to the Nine Dragons (九牧) and their cousin. There are two other charts before this that go all the way to Huang Di (2,697 BC).
Thanks if you post it again. Cheers.
