The purpose of this site and of CINARC is to encourage collaboration in exploring the history of Chinese in the Pacific Northwest - in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, British Columbia, Alaska, etc. - between the first known arrival of Chinese in 1788 and the great changes in the regional Chinese population that followed the liberalizing of U.S. immigration laws in 1965. 美洲西北岸åŽè£”æ—©æœŸåŽ†å² www.cinarc.org/index.html

Helen, thanks for the link to this great website.....I can't wait to get into it! My dad first came here in 1909 (age 16) arriving in San Francisco and again traveled in 1913 via Seattle WA. He must have been at Angel Island until his paper son father claimed him. I only have his INS papers from the 1921-1922 interrogations, so I am going to try to locate his first interrogation papers from 1909 and 1913. I think someone had mentioned where this documents are now located.
