Sorry, I had some misspelled words: There are something wrong of the map that I got from the internet pointing to the location of my Mom's village. My Uncle said that it seems that is Kuigang Long Gon Lay. He said their home village is : is Forty Nine Xu Pan Long Li. Does this look familiar to anyone?

...Do I put a TRAVELER'S CHECK of $20.00 into the Red Envelopes?..........I think I'll give out the U.S. $1.00 - "Gold" coins ($1.00)...
I will let someone else comment on the amount. I recommend you give RMB’s if you want to make it convenient for the recipient to spend the money. They will have a hard time exchanging U$ coins. Even Americans dislike dollar coins.
IMHO

What map are you talking about? Can you post it here?
The gateway top horizontal reads: Lónggāng lǐ pān (龍岡里 潘). (In Chinese, it reads from right to left) or 龙冈里 潘 (simplified Chinese)

bqc123,
Is that photo of the entrance to your mother's village? Longgang Li 龍岡里, a Pan/ P-o-o-n 潘 surname village?
From the village database lookup under the Pan/ P-o-o-n 潘 surname, there is a Kuigang Longgang Li 魁崗 龍岡里, but your uncle says that is not your mother's village.
Then you wrote, "He said their home village is : is Forty Nine Xu Pan Long Li." Did you write that in error, Pan Long Li?
There is a 49 Xu = 49 Marketplace = 四九圩 = Siujiu Xu in Kaiping. There are 2 villages near there with the name Longgang 龍岡/龙冈.

Sounds about right. Since 龙翔 Long xiang is an adjacent village and the characters are also on the gateway. Assuming the village is on the left side of the road.
"Kuigang Longgang Li 魁崗 龍岡里" maybe is the same village as the one in 49 四九 (Sijiu). Please remember that the coordinates in Village Database are very general of the area.
Depending on which map you look at, there are at least 3 龍岡 villages in that general area.

Faychee, do you happen to still have the information for the Chinese Overseas Bureau of Affairs in Kaiping. I need to contact someone in their office who speaks english to help me find my village in Kaiping. The village is called Dalang or Dalangcun. 大蓢村 Kaiping, Jiangmen, Guangdong,
If you can share the name and email address of who you contacted that would be so helpful. I have contacted Pecky Yang twice but never received a reply from Pecky. Thank you, Debbie. Please email me at: maraha@aol.com
