As I understand it, Chaoyang (潮陽) is s a district in the municipality of Shantou (汕頭), Guangdong Province, China. Chaozhou (潮州), alternatively transliterated as Chiuchow, Chaochow, or Teochew, is a city in the eastern Guangdong province of the China.
As to those charts you might see that I sometime post in this Forum, there is a Zheng from Texas who could be coming to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, sometime in October this year for a reunion gathering among his classmates from a university in Taiwan. He has requested me to show him how those charts could be constructed. I had agreed to spend a day with him. For those who are in Kuala Lumpur around the same time and are interested as well, they are welcome to join in.

Mr. Phillip, Is there a way that you can have this Zheng from TX contact me? I also live in TX (and yes, TX is very big, but would be nice to see how close this person is to me and if we are related in any way)

Hi Ginagaladriel,

Gina,
Found your email. I had forwarded Chart 2 to you as attachment with my email to you a few minutes ago.
If attachments you had sent me with the personal message represents your pedigree line, the common ancestor with Chart 3 would be at Xù (勗 82, 54, 15). Chart 4 continues to Chān (辿, 83, 55, 16) whilst your through his third brother Yáo (嶢, 83, 55, 16) and his son Zhuāng (莊, 84, 56, 17). As to the character at Generation 83, 55, 16 of your line, what is shown in my chart is Yáo (嶢) while your attachment is written as Náo (鐃).
If what the comments I raised could be confirmed, then you now have your ancestry all the way back to Huang Di. Hope you can allow others in this Forum to see your complete chart eventually.
Well done in your search.
Congratulations!!
Philip

Phillip,
Yes, once completed we can certainly share it because it can help others in their search. I am still waiting for confirmation/additional information from uncle Fai, he does say that we are descendants of "恒公" (Duke of Zheng), but I've requested more information and clearer characters, it will just take a bit of time as uncle Fai is not doing well health-wise.
