Helen, both our countries are cranking up the the centenary commemoration activity in April 2015 of the Anzacs' landing in Gallipoli. It is a defining event in the two nations' short history.
You'll remember the best known sniper in the campaign was one Billy Sing. He had over 200 confirmed kill, and did much to rattle the Turks. You'll remember a tele-movie was made of Billy Sing, using a white actor to play the principle role. It drew much condemnation from the Chinese community, and rightly so. I haven't seen the movie yet. Its release date is perhaps put back to the centenary year.
