Qing Ming Jie is a day to remember and honour the family's ancestors. It is a holiday in China which allows people to visit and sweep the graves. For the overseas Chinese if it falls on a weekday then it is a working day. So we, my family, observe it on the closest weekend by bring flowers.
How about you? Do you observe it on the actual day with the traditional offerings?

This tradition is still followed by my people in Singapore. Now that I'm living away from them, I only visit my grandparents' and relatives' graves occasionally. Also, in recent years, it has become a practice to visit the graves on days other than Qing Ming day because of traffic congestions!
