Both sides of my family are from Heungshan, Guangdong. I wonder if I have European and/or Filipino/Taiwanese Aboriginal ancestry.
Me Mom (Hong) Dad (Goo)
Paternal Grandmother (Chang)

Hi:
That is indeed an odd finding and one that probably raised some eyebrows in your family.
Remember that these companies that test DNA rely on their own collection of DNA samples and they may not have enough samples of a particular group to pinpoint the exact origin of certain bits of DNA. Also remember that there are many different ethnic minorities in China, including southern China.
The Sami, the indigenous people of Scandinavia, seem to have some Asian connection. Perhaps you have some remote ancestor who belonged to an ethnic minority group in China that has a genetic similarity to the Sami. In other words, you don't have Scandinavian DNA but some tiny bit of DNA that is similar to the DNA of a Scandinavian person (perhaps with Sami ancestry) in the DNA test company's database. Just an idea.
Since you and your family members (including those NOT related by blood) have the identical amount of "Scandinavian," I wonder too if all the samples were sent in at the same time and were subject to the same processing error. This might be the simplest theory.
If you are able, try testing with a different company and see what results you get.
Greg

Greg, I have tested with AncestryDNA and they gave me 100% China. On 23andMe, before the update I had 0.2% Broadly Southern European and then they changed it to Scandinavian. The European stays at 90% Confidence. Discover23 on 23andMe using AncestryDNA Grandfather's half cousin (Hong)

... The British ruled HK, so there may have been some mixing back then - probably liaisons, prostitutes, or concubines... trevor's ancestry are from Chungshan. Macao is more possible place than HK for such untraceable European bloodline...

Hey Melange, I have 0.2% trace of Western Asia and North Africa. Interestingly all my recent ancestors are also from Fuzhou area.

There is a rumor of European descent in my mom's paternal family. I'm thinking that it was Southern European ancestry because we are so close to Macau. It was said that my great-great grandfather had green-ish eyes. He was born in 1852 and some of his grandkids are still alive, the youngest in their 50s. I think that he looks especially European in Western clothes and without a queue.

Trevor, good to catch you again uso. Just curious, if you don't mind me asking, roughly how many matches do you have on 23andme?

My uso, At this minute, I have 1,199 matches on 23andMe. Whoa for 23andme, that's pretty decent. I'm hoping for more full Chinese matches on 23andme. I just don't have that many yet Also how accurate do you find this Ancestral feature? This one was for my father, I do not know how accurate it is though.

I would call it a culmination of where most of your matches say that their ancestors are from.

It was saying that the minimum number of matches used in determining ancestral locations in the past 200 years was only 5 which seems quite low of a threshold.
