Hi, I'm helping my friend, finds his ancestral village. This village is in Taishan county, in the district, San He, in the town of Anshi, and the village as Dalangcun, or 台山三合縣安市大朗村. Locating San He is not a problem, but finding Dalangcun is. A few years ago, my friend visited the village, but now don't remember how he got there. The family name is Wah (unfortunately, he doesn't have the Chinese character. I've tried checking Google, Sogou and Baidu (my Chinese is so-so), but, wasn't too successful. Can someone help? Thank you, Dragon Jr.
I have a second question, my father-in-law (張, family name) is from Kaiping, 開平縣四九朝阳里. I was able to google this village and found the coordinates as 22.400340, 112.540445. Four years ago, I visited this village and thought and still think this village was south of Kaiping city, more like at this coordinates, 22.273458, 112.688126. I'm still learning my way around Taishan and Kaiping. Can someone points me in the right direction. Thank you very much, Dragon Jr.

dragon008, DaLangCun is not on any map websites that I visited, apparently- it is located withing the LianAn [联安] village cluster: Please click on the link below: DaLangCunYour ancestral village ChaoYangLi is located approximately 10 miles NW of Kaiping city center and just North, next to JiShengCun: Please click on the link below: ChaoYangLiYour second set of coordinates locates a ChaoYangLi in Taishan county, not Kaiping county and is located south of Kaiping city within Taishan county. Agreeing with Henry's observations for both villages.
Adding to Dalang,
The US Army's WWII Kwangtung military map shows the location of 大朗 Ta-lang being between the village of 大昌 Ta-ch'ang and the town of 聯安市 Lien-an-sh'ih:
Here is the location in Google Maps satellite view:

Henry, Thank you for your time in verifying my father-in-law's village. From this location in Kaiping, I was able to see the connection (in terms of location) to my mother-in-law's maternal village, Dumunli.

Henry;
I was just introduced to your website about a week ago. I'm not sure if I belong to the Tom (Tan) clan. So, let me tell you who my grandmother is and her father for reference. My grandmother is named Lonn Moon Tom (30 Oct 1897) born in Missoula, Montana to Sam Tom (1852-1935) and Sue Yee Gee (1875-1945). They were married in 1891. I don't know if Sam Tom is related or not. Any reference would be appreciated.

thru1951, There are many Tom [ 譚 ] clan members that settled in Butte, MT. Rose Hum Lee was a notable person from Butte: biography.yourdictionary.com/rose-hum-lee"Hum" as well as "Tom" are just 2 of the 10 different romanizations of the same Chinese 譚 clan. Mai Wah Society : www.maiwah.org/about/If you can post a photo of the gravestones for Lonn Moon Tom or Sam Tom, we can then probably tell you from which Tom ancestral village your Tom family originates from. Hi Henry, Sorry for the long delay, since I don't often check the forum site, but thank you very much for taking the time in mapping this village.

Dear "thu1951",
You are definitely related to Sam and Sue Yee Tom. Your grandmother Lonn Moon Tom and my mother Queenie Tom were sisters. If you would like more information, send me a message on his board.
