Hello all. My name is Ranee and I’m looking for any family that I may share. My ancestor is Chequong Gee Wo Leo but he was also known by C Gee Wo Leo, Leo Gee Quong, and either Cheequong or Chuquong. He lived in Goo Tan Yong village in the Sun Ning District. His first wife was Chin Shee d.1891 and he had two sons. (Frank) Suey Leo and (George) Gim Soon Leo. I am related from his second wife that was a white lady. Any help would be pleased. I have researched as much as I can and I would love to know more about that side of the family and connect with my Chinese heritage.

Ranee, As per previous advice as you have researched other people's posts, is that you will need images of Chinese characters based on interviewing and gathering documents or tombstone images of relatives. Phonetic spelling is useless. Continue your oral history to discover where these analog images of Chinese characters might be found. Look for family documents, back of photos, Findagrave.com for help in imaging a distant tombstones. People at the forum can help you with translation of these characters (if you find any). Otherwise, there is no way to work of phonetic English spelling.
Good luck.
