Hi all,
I have discovered that my great grand father likely came from this village: 黄冲村 (https://www.google.com/maps/place/Huangchongcun,+Xinhui+District,+Jiangmen,+Guangdong+Province,+China/@22.2943095,113.0504676,16z/data=!3m1!4b1!4m5!3m4!1s0x34018c5be1f9aa19:0xa3eaa6122e1b64de!8m2!3d22.2943!4d113.054845)
I think his brother or cousin's name is 黃 世祚. My GGF's name was Anglicised to Wong Shi Hoo. 黃 世祚 died in Melbourne, Australia in 1903, and my GGF died in 1908 in Melbourne too.
How do I get my hands on a copy of the Jiapu?
Thanks to Ian54 too.

This is what I believe is my great-grand-uncle's signature. I believe the "Shi Hoo" signature is my great-grand-father.

andrewhuanggau,
You may be able to acquire a copy of the village genealogy book from Huangchongcun if it still exits.
This can be accomplished by visiting this village.

Hi: I was able to find an article about the Wong/Huang clan of Wong Choong Village/Huangchongcun, Sunwui/Xinhui County 新會縣: blog.sina.com.cn/s/blog_5f4c0bb70100sb1q.htmlIt says the the first Wong ancestor to move to Wong Choong Village was named Wong Bo/Huang Bao 黃寳, a.k.a. Wong Sook Mun/Huang Shuwen 黃叔文, born around 1244. The article includes a list of ancestors down to the 12th generation. This article is not a complete genealogy but it is a good start. Greg

Thank you Henry and gckimm for helping andrewhuangau. My Ancestry DNA recently showed a potential match with Andrew in Australia and I contacted him. It turns out that we are related on his maternal grandmother’s Wong (Huang) side. Andrew’s maternal father’s side is the Lew surname which I had recently requested help on. Andrew and another Lew DNA match of his (I do not appear to have a Lew match) will further explore the Lew side soon, rather than having me act as a go-between. Anyway Andrew, attached is my Chan/Chen lineage chart. If you follow the yellow line there are several Huang/Wong wives listed. Our DNA match indicates you are a potential 5th to 8th cousin, so we are probably connected via one of the recent Huang wives. It is possible that you are descended from one of their male siblings. Please click on the link. Ian

Hi all, FamilySearch.org seems to host a Wong genealogical manuscript from Sunwui showing dozens of family trees. I can't seem to find a confirmation that all of these family trees are of lineages that reside(d) in Wong Chong Village, but they do all stem from Wong Sook Mun/Huang Shuwen 黃叔文 (as mentioned by Greg above) who is the progenitor of the village. In fact, the generation character 世 Shi is used in the family trees. Click here for the link to the digital scans.
