Hi - I am trying to track down my family village and/or genealogy. Would greatly appreciate any information/insight/help.
The family name is Puah (Hokkien). I understand my grandfather was from Yongchun county (Eng Chhun) in Fujian province. My grandfather migrated to Malaysia and settled in Selangor. Unfortunately I have very little information to share. I can provide details about generational name if that helps.

photohdrman, The information you provide is rather sparse - making it difficult to help you. If you have a photo of your grandfather's gravestone with inscribed Chinese characters - this would help immensely. It seems that the Pan family in Yongchun county in Fujian province was prominent in propagating White Crane kung fu. I checked & there are several Pan family genealogies for the Taoyuan area in Yongchun county, Fujian, China: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fujian_White_Craneyongchun-white-crane.eu/about-pan-xiow-deIf you have the Chinese characters for your grandfather's name, you can try to find your family lineage in these genealogies. This may be the specific area where your ancestral village is located. The following link is for several Pan Family genealogies for Taoyuan, Yongchun, Fujian province: search.kongfz.com/product_result/?key=%E6%B0%B8%E6%98%A5%E6%BD%98%E6%97%8F%E8%B0%B1&status=0&_stpmt=eyJzZWFyY2hfdHlwZSI6ImFjdGl2ZSJ9My dear friend, Dr. Philip Tan, is an expert Chinese genealogist, he may be able to help you. His family originates from Yongchun county and Philip travels back at least once a year to visit. Philip also lives in KL, Malaysia. I suggest you send him a personal message to "Philip Tan" on this Forum. Henry
