Finding my ancestor home in China.
My grand father 梁䫟聚 and my grandmother 佘妺 come to Singapore in the early 1900. (Not sure if my grandfather went direct to Thailand or left Singapore to go to Thailand later.)
As far as I know my grandparents come from 廣東 台山 橫領洞壠尾
I understand that my grandfather have another family in Thailand and did come to Singapore to look for us (they publish in local to look for us. ) However, My daddy did not want to acknowledge them.
I appreciate if anyone can help to locate the village or where I can get help to locate the village or Zupu of 梁 in China.
Is there anyway, I can find out more about my grandfather life in Thailand.

Hi leong, There does not seem to be an exact Longwei village in the village database that is a Leung/Leong clan. However, I did find an administrative division in 蔞北鄉 Lau Pak Heung 沖蔞 Chung Lau Market Town by that name and a village to match as well. There are other Leong and Yee villages in that area. Maybe if the heung or market town sound familiar, this could be it? www.google.com/maps/place/22%C2%B008'40.3%22N+112%C2%B046'49.1%22E/@22.1445279,112.771553,15z/data=!4m5!3m4!1s0x0:0x0!8m2!3d22.144539!4d112.7803076 22.144539,112.7803076 - Jeremy

Cannot open the link if possible appreciate if you could do a screen shot of the map. The name of the place does not sound like what I am looking but Leong and Yee village could worth looking at for me.
Thanks Jeremy

Leong, You have to copy the whole link, as it does not seem to hyperlink the entire text. You can also use the coordinates to put it in google maps. Do you have any other location names you can provide or anywhere you know the village was near to help narrow things down?

I need help tracing my grandmother's village. She passed away in 1960 at the age of 86. Her surname is Lim and we are Hokkien.
The name of her village in Hokkien is "Sam Toh Hai Teng Kwan". Sorry don't have the Chinese writing for it.
Would be grateful for any help.

Hi, I'm also researching my family's genealogy with very limited information about my grandfather as he passed away when my father was a young teenager in 1941. Our family name is Chan. My Grandfather's name is 陳貴榮. He immigrated to Singapore, I am guessing, at the turn of last century from Shun Tak (Shunde)順德區. My father recalls a village name like Kwai Lam? Would anyone be familiar with this name? The only evidence I currently have is a photo of my Grandfather's urn housed at Kwong Wai Siew Peck San Theng in Singapore. I have tried to do a death search without success.

j,
If the urn has Chinese characters on it, please post it and it will probably provide additional information useful for your research.
