The information in the attachment was written by my Aunty's husband. Her name is Wong Yuet Ying. I cannot read Chinese but the information to the right of her name is apparently the location of our ancestral village. Can some of you learned individuals help? Thanks.

Hi:
An internet search confirms that Tangxia/Tong Ha is a town or zhen/jun 鎮. thingyou/Chuen Tau 村頭 is, as stated in the note, a township or xiang/heung 鄉, the next lower level of administration. Unfortunately, my search for information on a township in Xinhui/Sunwui County 新會縣 by the name of thingyou came up empty, although I did find a reference to someone from there in an old Chinese newspaper from Malaysia. Tangxia still exists but my guess is that thingyou has changed names.
Please note that a village name is not indicated on the note. If you want to find out the name of the village, that will require a bit more digging.

If I am reading the Google map information correctly, the Tangxiazhen pointed out by Henry above seems to be located in Dongguan and the characters do not seem to match. Sorry that I cannot seem to correct the "thingyou" error. There is some kind of technical problem.

The note is a record of the birthdate and ancestral village of Wong Yuet Ying:
The ancestral village: 新會縣 (Sun Voy County/ Xinhui County) 江門 (Kong Mon / Jiangmen District) 棠下鎮 (Tong Ha Town / Tungxia Town) 村頭鄉 (Tsung Tow Village / Dung Tow/ Dun How / thingyou Village)
NOTE: 棠下鎮 (Tong Ha Town / Tungxia Town) is located North of Xinhui/Jiangmen. It comes under the administration district of 蓬江區 (Fung-jiang District). The 村頭鄉 (Tsung Tow Village) is probably the name of a street in the 棠下鎮 (Tong Ha Township).
Date of birth: 1914-07-07 between 9 pm - 11 pm. For the family record, you might note the Lunar Calendar date and hour of her birth (generally know as the 8 Characters):
甲寅年, 庚午月, 甲午日, 乙亥時
Her children and grandchildren are the pride of her life.

Thank you Henry,
I have employed a person who is a native of Xinhui, to do some legwork for me since I am unable to travel to China atm due to Covid. He had located the village and apparantly it is now known as Qaiotou. It is located just outside Tangxia so I believe that he had located my ancentral village. Only way to confirm the find is to travel there and locate the Clan House and look through the family tree documentation.

Hi Alan,
I check around TangXia and could not find a Qiaotou village [ 桥头 ]. So it may well be that the Xia Cun I originally identified with an arrow had a name change to Qiaotou.
I suggest you ask your researcher to call the village chief of Qiaotou village to see if they have a copy of the village genealogy book that has the names of your ancestors and if so, take photos to send to you.
In the China Workshop which I usually conduct in November, this is part of the research & village report done for each attendee and has an escorted visited to the village - all of this is included in the registration fee.
Because of the pandemic, I rescheduled the China Workshop from November 2020 to April 2021. If you want more information, just email me at: Tomclan@Gmail.com
