Ancestry.com has scanned the original passport applications from National archives. This is a subscription site, but one can search for free and if you find something, then you can sign up. A lot of universities and genealogy associations have a free subscription one can use if you have a library card or college ID. For example, Friends of the Georgia Archives at the Georgia archives offers use of this website. www.Ancestry.com also has the SF Passengers list.

For your information, at least some public libraries have access to a library version of Ancestry.com.........and with a library card, one can access this invaluable website for free online at the library.
