Hi all. I am trying to find this on a map 广东çœæ·±åœ³å¸‚ç¦ç”°åŒºåŽå¯ŒåŒ—æ‘82æ ‹ (my relative in Shenzhen)
I know it is Shenzhen, Guangdong Province in Futian District of Wah Fu North Village Estate 82.
I found the Futian district but can't seem to get Wah Fu North Village other than Hong Kong.
If anyone can find it on a map for me I would greatly appreciate it
Thank you

I had no idea where's the 82æ ‹ (82th building) located because the estate is quite large (near 笋岗西路)

Hi Harc3, I believe the following 2 maps identify the location of Wah Fu North Village åŽå¯ŒåŒ—æ‘ and it is near 笋岗西路 as noted by tyuti1668. Henry mysite.verizon.net/vzepzaui/Wah Fu Village.jpg[/img]

Hello everyone, looking for best map location for a village called Min Fong Lay district of Lau Kong Heung in Hoiping County I have been told it is about 2km west of Sanbu port in Kaiping City. Plan to take a ferry from Hong Kong to Sanbu port or a bus to Kaiping City Terminal in mid-April of this year and stay at Hotel Holiday Sanbu, my guess is that a taxi driver is not going to know the whereabouts of a small village with about 25 houses and no signage! Attached are 2 maps of area. Any help would be much appreciated. Attachments:

Hi Floyd, Welcome to the Forum. Please see the following map of Kaiping - the distance between the Sanbu Holiday Hotel and Min Fong Lay is approximately 9 km ( 5.6 miles): This map shows the location of Min Fong Lay on Highway S 274: mysite.verizon.net/vzepzaui/Min Fong Lay.jpg[/img] Regards, Henry

Thank you Henry for the maps, big difference between 2km estimate by my cousin and your 9km calculation. I am very impressed with your knowledge base and your quick response to a challenging problem for a Canadian born Chinese guy with just limited verbal Cantonese.
Thanks also to "tyuti1668" for the update on ferry from Hong Kong to Kaiping.

"tyuti1668" what is the most efficient way to go from Hong Kong to Kaiping by bus? or ferry to Zhongshan then bus to Kaiping? I would like to get there in about 4 hours
Anyone else have an opinion?
Thanks

floyd,
My recommendation is that you catch a coach from HK International, direct to Kaiping. The total journey is about 4 hrs. From HK International, usually a mini bus from the airport will transport you to the main bus terminal to Kaiping. Immigration is before the coach station, usually as the mini bus crosses the border. The main coach to Kaiping will have a pit stop almost half way.
Kaiping to Zhongshan is a few hours away. You can also catch a HK International Airport to Zhongshan coach, and then another (Is it free?) Zhongshan to Kaiping coach. Seems to me that is breaking the journey.
Sanbu Holiday Inn to your ancestral village is not that far away. If I was travelling, I will take a "motor" (read, a motor bike taxi). My ABC and Kaiping relatives shake their heads at me -- too dangerous, they say, but I find travel like so is so much fun -- wind in your hair, thick in the traffic.
Me, I take a "motor" to my village, and walk around my home village. An emotional experience.
As you probably know, there are many fun things to do in Kaiping, and of course rest of the Siyi region. Taishan City is only an hour or so away.
Enjoy and have a good journey. A CBC on a homeward journey. Regards, Ah Gin

Henry, my sister would like me to ask you for another favor, to try and locate my mother's village, however all we know that it was located in 開平 Hoiping county, 麗塘鄉 Lai Tong Heung district and one of 3 villages with a surname of Lee:
Village 1 麗洞村 Lai Tung or Village 2 井骨里 Cheng Kwut Lay or Village 3 上心里 Sheung Sum Lay
We know that it was located north of my father's village of Min Fong Lay in Lau Kong Heung district. Before they were married it used to take her about 4-5 hours to walk an estimated 20-25 kilometers from her village to Min Fong Lay, hard to imagine in this day of age!
My guess is village1 Lai Tung, could you try and locate these villages on a map for me and I will attempt to do the leg work to confirm identity with her written Chinese name.
Thanking you in advance in trying to help me again.
Regards,
Floyd
