The book "Bridging the Pacific:San Francisoc Chinatown and Its People is a highly recommended classic and on the first generation. Written by Thomas W. Chinn. San Francisco:Chinese Historical Society, 1989.
There are interviews with the business owners, ministers, about some of the ABC organizations as well as traditional chinese organizations in SF Chinatown.
