Hi all, Trying to find the pin yin for this last name. I need it in order to enter it to ancestry.c@m to find jia pau. Also does anyone know of a software that can translate the jia pau images from ancestry.c@m. I found jia paus for other grandparents but can't read it. Thanks, Wayne Attachments:

Wayne, There is no OCR program to read large amounts of images. COCR2:Experimental Chinese OCR will only do one character at a time. Please study this thread Understanding Jiapu/Zupu for Chinese Illiterates<=click and see if you can identify the biographies. ¿First, did you find your grandparent within the jiapu? From there you can find the biographies and follow the thread to interpret the vital statistics and discover the maternal lines. The 'eulogy' part of the biography needs a Chinese literate person, as well as rest of the jiapu. I wrote something in the Chinese Roots Wiki<=click which is a compilation of some of the other threads. After trying to work out the information yourself, consider posting images of your jiapu with any specific question. Finally, twoupman, a long time moderator of this forum has this translation service on his web site<=click. I have no financial relationship with him. The pinyin will need to be interpreted by someone more literate than I. Doug
