Readers of this forum might be interested to know that one of Australia's premier academic history journals has just released a special issue on Chinese Australian history. Australian Historical Studies – 'Dragon Tails: New Perspectives in Chinese Australian History' (Vol. 42, Issue 1, 2011) was co-guest edited by Keir Reeves and Tseen Khoo. Contributors include emerging researchers and senior academics in the field as well as those working in cultural institutions and content ranges from historical archaeology, museology and history to historiographical discussions of Chinese-Australian history. My contribution is an article suggesting that we need to rethink our idea of Chinese families in 19th century Australia. The journal's online details are: www.informaworld.com/smpp/title~content=t786314679~db=allRegards, Kate
