Hi,
I'm a newbie here. I had always wanted to know about my ancestry. So I was wondering if anyone have any information in regard to Zheng genealogy from Fujian Guantou? Thanks.

Hello, Welcome to the forum. Are you able to give the Chinese characters for Guantou? I'm assuming you are referring to Guantou Township (ç¯é 鎮) in Fuzhou City, Fujian, is this correct? There is also at least one village in Fujian romanized as Guantou so we'll need to clarify which Guantou you are referring to. I found this through Google by searching Guantou Town and the Zheng clan. www.fzpedia.com/wiki/%E7%AB%B9%E5%B2%90%E9%83%91%E6%B0%8F%E5%AE%97%E7%A5%A0 (in Chinese) It is about a Zheng clan ancestral hall in ç«¹å² village (Zhu Qi in pinyin. Sorry, I don't know how to romanize it in Hokkien or Hokchiu). Would this happen to be your ancestral village?

Mugenpower 168: Sorry for the late reply. I had so much to do at school.
Thank you for helping and replying. As for Guantou character I have no idea how to write that in Chinese character and I have no idea if it will show up right if I write it and post it. The second character is a head character. I'm from Fujian Fuzhou a little town in Guantou. I know when I was young mom used to take me there since it's the like the popular place. Sorry I can't verify if it is Guantou Township because I can't see the characters on my computer.

Hi mhz88,
That's ok. You need view the page in Unicode to see the character. You said that the Guantou you are from is in Fuzhou, are these the characters ç¯å¤´? Is this where you are referring to?

Hi sorry for the late reply again. I am just so busy with everything.
I tried to change my computer setting but it still isn't showing the characters. If the second character is a head character then it is the town that I am referring to. Thanks.

Ok, lets go back to basics. I am assuming you are using XP, since everything else enables Chinese characters.
Which browser are you using?

That is good that you have a modern operating system
Frequently, if you change the character encoding using <MENU><VIEW><CHARACTER ENCODING><UNICODE>, and you subsequently refresh the page, you might lose your initial choice and have to reset again.
