I am searching for my husbands ancestral village in Canton. We were told it was called Poh Leng. It is situated near a temple built on a mountain...thought I am sure this may be a common occurance in many places in China. I hope someone can help.
His ancestral home was very large, and when the Communists too over the home was taken but we understand it still exists today.
I am sorry I cant give the name of the grandfather as his name was never spoken in the family due to filial piety. Our family name is Ng (Huang) meaning "yellow".
Can anyone help.

Hi Kpopmum,
Welcome to our Forum.
Please try to find the Chinese characters for the name of your ancestral village from a photo of inscribed Chinese characters on the gravestone and/or immigration documents, envelopes, written on old photos and post it on the Forum so our Chinese literate members can help you.

黄 - This is our character - from Zengcheng - What dialect does your family speak? That could help identify the area you come from.
