Hi Reader, In preparing for my presentation in Philadelphia, I searched the International Chinese Business Directory, 1913. It was compiled by Wong Kin, 1913. I found a few pages for Philadelphia businesses one hundred years ago. here was a Chinese mission, a few restaurants, dry goods, and laundries. the businesses were listing bilingually, the address...meaning that if you had the city, country, and a business name that your ancestor owned for 1913, you too could look up and print a copy. If you are doing a study on the Chinatowns, that directory would indicate the size of various Chinatowns. In my Internet search under the title, there's a copy of the rare directory to download.
