lachinatown, Thank you for the information and your patience to repeat information to me over and over again. Sorry, I am slow to digest and collate them. I will contact the village committee when I am there next month. I do not have much information for them except my grandparents' names, my dad's sibling names, a few of my grand aunties' names and some DOBs.

Hello lauhuaqiao
I received an invitation for a wedding in Jiangmen 我们是在江门摆酒,地址是江门市礼乐文锦苑1幢601.
How do I trace this place on google earth or map, and any recommendations for a reasonable place to stay near the restaurant?
I expect to meet relatives of my mother there hence making the effort to attend, the relatives have spread out over the years but as this will be in the Golden Week presume a lot will be coming to attend the feast.

Joe, 江门市 江海区 礼乐镇 文锦苑 is around "22.562, 113.0831" in Google Maps. It's not far from Jiangmen city center, 2 km. I have stayed in Park Lane hotel chain in Jiangmen area, www.jmparklane.com . Their room are comfortable and reasonably priced, 160-180 rmb/night. There is one right at the center of city, "22.583, 113.085" in Google Maps, though I have not stayed in this particular one.

Hello lauhuaqiau,
Thanks for your quick and detailed reply, it is very much appreciated. It will be in the midst of the Golden Week and need to plan early in view of the holidays. My late mum's relatives stay in Haiyen, in a small village, so will not expect much help from them for hotels etc in Jiangmen, so your hotel chain information will be most helpful.

Interesting Joe, This is the Wen Jinyuan at Wenchang Garden, was built in 1992. Depending on the map, closer to 22.557111,113.078578, by the Jiangman Wenchang Zhongyingwen school (Chinese-English School), by Wen Chang Lu (Rd) and G94 Zhusanjiao Expy Ring Photos available and floor plan too.

If you search "江门市 江海区 礼乐镇 文锦苑" there is a location identified for a Changshun Food with the address 文锦苑 第1幢, Building #1. My guess is location is in the same building or complex.
BTW, Joe, I have a friend with surname Ho/He 何 from a village in Lile town, just wondering if any member of the wedding party with this surname.

Thank you all for your most helpful responses to enable me to search for the restaurant where the clan will meet for the feast. The family is the Tam (Siyispeak Haam) form Haiyen so it is not a Jiangmmen based family.
I presume they are holding the event in Jiangmen because it is a bigger place but it gives the opportunity to meet the widespread side of my mother. May learn more of our ancestry.

Ngkokweng, I rode my bike to Kaiping earlier today and 开平市 长沙区 八一管区 南安新填村 is indeed an Ng 吴 village. Just to confirm again the coordinates are "22.3623,112.6545" on the map it's identified as Bayicun. 南安 and 新填村 are 2 separate villages adjacent to each other, 南安 being the larger of the 2. The entrance to the villages are on Dongsheng Road, where there is a gateway with 南安里 above and a sign next to the gate with 新填村 name.
I gave your grandparents' names to a man in the village and he said he would try to find if anyone heard of the names. Knowing where your grandfather went when he left the village would have been helpful.

laohuaqiao, what about the other one
广东省 江门市 开平市 长沙区 三江管区 新填里?
So 南安新填村 is identified as Bayicun (八一村)? Then, where is Bayicun (八一村)?

江门市 开平市 长沙区 三江管区 新填里 is a Tan 谭 village.
Bayi is the name of the administrative district/village. I don't know if there is an actual village (natural village 自然村) of that name。 It's the same with Sanjiang.

Thanks laohuaqiao and Henry.
It's just that Bayicun (八一村) is shown on all the maps and 南安 on some too. BTW assume you mean the first road from the intersection when you were talking about "The entrance to the villages are on Dongsheng Road".
Henry, can you clarify on the coordinates. Is this for Bayicun? Which map are you using? When put the coordinates on Maps.Google.com, it shows north of the street/highway. Difficult to understand why the map shifted when view in satellite view with highway number/bus labels out of place.
I think we should use one standard to pinpoint the locations in this forum.

I managed to locate a map from baidu www.keyunzhan.com/youbian1131159/ .It shows 开平市长沙区三江管区新填里村 (邮编:529300). Is this the exact location I should go? Thank you.

Can anyone help with available internet maps to confirm that 新填村 (where laohuaqiao purposefully went recently to help me out) is the same place as 开平市,长沙区,三江管区,新填里村 (邮编:529300). Thank you.
