I've been working with the New York Historical Society on an upcoming show about the U.S. Chinese Exclusion Act. The show opens September 26th and will run through April 19, 2015. Afterwards, it will probably be touring to Portland, OR and San Francisco, CA. www.nyhistory.org/exhibitions/chineseamerican .They will be using many of my family's artifacts and immigration story in one part of the exhibit. But, the Historical Society is also interested in gathering and sharing stories of many Chinese families across the spectrum. Towards that end, they've set up this online portal for folks to upload their own stories and photos. chineseamerican.nyhistory.org/ I hope many of you fellow SIYI genealogy friends will add your stories to the growing collection. And, please try to see the exhibit. It will be amazing. There has also been discussions with museums in China about having the exhibit shown there.
