Here is an interesting listing of famous people broken down by different subclades of YDNA O. It uses the most recent identifier. The markers remain consistent. This is the first of a kind of listings of various famous people of various subclades of YDNA O. Most other sites I have seen focus on people with European ancestry. Hence, this site has largely East Asian people (hence, famous people in East Asia). I know it is in Japanese. And I don’t read Japanese. But, you can cut and paste into Google Translate, which is what I did. Anybody know of any other sites that has an extensive list of famous people with YDNA O that in English?
Famous O1a:

Famous O1b (formerly O2b):

Famous O2 (formerly O3) (note: my marker is M159 and currently identified as O2a2a1a1a )

From what I can gather the famous person who shared my marker- M159 or which is now O2a2a1a1a was apparently a famous Samurai in Japan named Hattori Hocho. His 4th son is named Hattori Hanzo (1542-1596). I find that interesting that they were Samurais. See: See: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hattori_Hanzō and en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hattori_Masanari
I am not Japanese, but of Taiwanese background with paternal ancestry 8-9 generations ago from a couple of sub-villages within Zhangzhou, Fujian. My great-great—great- great- great grandfather was a "wujuren" 武舉人 (an imperial military scholar) during the Qing Dynasty.
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Imperi...n#Degree_types and en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Imperi...y_examinations
And my ancestry came from an area called:
Xiaqiao, Shicang Village, Buwen Township, Longwen District, Zhangzhou City, Fujian (步文鎮石倉村霞橋(霞橋 or 下橋). I had a genealogist go there and find out that a large number of people there were skilled in the martial arts. So, just (jokingly) think the many of M159 were Samurais, marital artists, military scholars. I say it with a little jest.
