Hello to the group! I just uncovered y'all yesterday. I am not truly Chinese, except for my taste in Art. But I Do like Chinese painting and sculpture. I also have been able to trace my round-eyed ancestry, through the Uighurs, to the Tang Suzong; which means 3 lineages to the Yang clan of the Sui dynasty. So I am seeking a lead to a source for such data. Preferably in a western language. Doubly preferably in a Romance language. Also, throwing it out there for any who may be interested: Li Zhi (The Tang Gaozong) was the son of Empress Wende, dau. of Gen. Zhangsun Sheng by his wife, Lady Gao, dau. of Gao Jingde. The Chinese house of Gao was a captivated branch of the Korean royal family of Ko, of Koguryeo, carried-off by the Murong. Finally: is there anything interesting in the ancestry of Wu Zetian? Other than one of the lines to Yang of Hongnong? In conclusion, let me say thank you, in advance, for any assists.

Eclecticgenealogy,
Yesterday I should have clarified that the chart shown is that of my maternal grandmother’s Tang lineage. It is part of the Zupu village genealogy book that was given to me last November when we found our ancestral Tang village in Zhucun, Shenzhen, Guangdong. The genealogy starts at generation 1 (Huang Di) all the way down to my generation number 145. The Zupu was translated by my cousin’s friend in Toronto only 2 weeks ago. It is my understanding that Shang of generation 5 was the starter of the Tang name.
I am not sure if the chart helps you as it does not indicate who his wife was. I’m interested what source you managed to get information on the other names you mentioned. I cannot read or write Chinese and so cannot translate other chapters or text in the Zupu that might assist you.
Are there any other Tang (Deng in Mandarin) members out there who can help?
Ian
