There are probably others like me who are wondering...
Tracing ancestors. I finally got to photograph my village Zupu on a brief fly by visit of just an hour. There was no time to look for more contacts or details. The listings stop before my generation, somewhere in the late 1800s before emigration to USA. I've got Dr Tan to show me the links to the mainline ancestral tree. I still don't know the full story of my immediate ancestors who left the village and maybe returned even for burial. What should be done next on or before a visit to the village again? Whom else to contact, how to contact? What are their official titles in Chinese? Are there fees or customary gifts involved? Are there English speaking local genealogical assistants that can be hired? Maybe more questions from others to follow?

With the reopening in 2023, more people are considering travel to ancestral China. Hope some will offer some guidance about the questions raised above.
