Shing,
I do not know the Sito/Seto/Seeto generation poem, but surely you could find it in the "jook po" (zupu in Mandarin) which is the genealogical book for the Sito family name in your ancestral village (assuming you are a Sito). I am aware of one Sito area, and that is Chek Hom in Hoiping, one of the Sze Yup (Siyi) counties. Chek Hom was founded by the Kwan and Sito family clans, and a plaque in Chek Hom proclaims this founding origin.

Hi Shing, Welcome to the Forum, If you want a copy of your family genealogy book (jiapu / zupu) that probably contains your family generational poem - you need to contact a village relative or hire a person to go to your ancestral village and find a copy if it is available. Many family genealogy books were destroyed during the Cultural Revolution in China during the 1960s. If you need a person to do this for you, I have a contact and you may contact me for further details at: [ Tomclan@Gmail.com ]. FYI: In the Village Database: www.c-c-c.org/villagedb/display.cgi?level=Heung&id=192 you will see under: Seto [司徒 ], Kaiping [ 開平 ], Win Kin Heung [ 永堅鄉 ], Ngan Wu Lay [ 雁湖里] as the 18th village in the listing, below is a map of the location of your ancestral village: mysite.verizon.net/vzepzaui/Ngan Wu Lay.jpg[/img] Chikan [ Chek Hom ] market town is located about 14 km [ 8.5 miles ] southwest of Kaiping city: Kaiping [ Hoiping ] can be found on the following bi-lingual map of southern Guangdong province. Shing,
I took a photo of this Seto/Kwan commemorative plaque a few years ago while I was briefly visiting Chek Hom out of curiosity. It's all written in Chinese, of course. I don't know how to post the photo on this website, but I could attach it to an email to you if you could provide me your email address in a private message to me on this forum.
Chek Hom is quaint and beautifully lined with old-styled Chinese shops (business at the ground floor and living quarters on the 2nd floor) along a quiet river waterfront. I have a few photos of that too.
Cheers, Ray

Hi folks, I am trying to help someone we believe is descended from SooHoo/Seto origins with roots in New England, specifically Boston, Mass. and Jersey Shore, PA. Perhaps Detroit, Michigan too. Any SooHoo's or Seto's with connections to these places? Raymond, if you are still on the board, could you send me a photo of the plaque regarding the the Seto and Kwan families of Chek Hom? I will pm you my email address. Thanks, Christine

Dear Colleagues,
I have looked at various generational poems for the Tan clan in the SiYi area and there are many variations of a generational poem depending upon location and some that are rather different. So, I believe that clan members with the same or similar generational poem are probably closely related.
A generational poem can probably be even specific to just a particular village.
I suspect that as an originating clan member settles in a place and becomes the clan progenitor for that locale, there is probably a generational poem that is established based upon a variation of an existing generational poem or perhaps a new generational poem is created.
