I am writing to advise you about an upcoming panel at the University of British Columbia that is open to the public and may be of interest to you and your members. On Friday, November 21st at 8pm, I will chair a panel/discussion on *The Forgotten War Against Chinese North Americans*, focusing on the experience of Chinese and Chinese-North-Americans on the west coast between 1880-1920. Our two speakers will be Dr. Jean Pfaelzer, author of the award-winning book *Driven Out: The Forgotten War Against Chinese Americans* (Random House 2007) and Dr. Patricia Roy, author of *A White Man's Province: British Columbia Politicians and Chinese and Japanese Immigrants 1858-1914*
Dr. Pfaelzer is Professor of English at University of Delaware. More
