Dear Colleagues in the New York City:
The Chinese American Librarians Association/Northeast Chapter and New York Public Library invites you to a slide lecture program on "*In Search of the Roots of President Yuan Shikai's Family*", presented by professor KaChuen Yuan Gee and Professor Janey (Sheau-Yueh) Chao.
KaChuen Yuan Gee is a granddaughter of Yuan Shikai, the first president of the Republic of China. Last summer, Professor Gee and Professor Chao embarked on a genealogical research trip to China to search for Yuan's family roots. They spent over a month in China and visited many cities where Yuan descendants live. They brought back many photos and stories of Yuan's family, which were not known previously, to share with you.
*Speakers' Bio:*
*KaChuen Yuan Gee:* received a BA in history from New York University, a MLS in Library Science from Columbia University, and a MS in Special Education from Lehman College, CUNY. Currently, she is the head of Technical Services Department at the Leonard Lief Library of Lehman College.
*Janey (Sheau-Yueh) Chao*: received a MLS at University of Wisconsin-Madison and MS in Computer Science from the New York Institute of Technology. She is the Head of Cataloging at Baruch College, City University of New York. She is also a Chinese genealogy researcher and has published several books and articles.
