Readers of this Forum now have a rare opportunity of buying a genealogy book in English. I am referring to Henry Tom forth coming entitled " Tan Genealogy: Heritage and Lineage". Please refer to his announcement either in: mysite.verizon.net/vzepzaui/news.html or siyigenealogy.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=suggestion&action=display&thread=966I understand the number of copies that Henry will be printing is limited only to whatever is being ordered now. It will be pity for readers who are interested in Chinese genealogy, especially those not able to read Chinese like me, to miss out on this rare opportunity to own a copy even though it may not be for your surname.

New Zealand will be getting a copy. I suggest getting the word out there to local organisations to purchase the book. I sure am looking forward to getting a copy. It's not my Family name, but the work will be an inspiration to us all.

Hi Philip,
Actually yes, the printer has set numbers of copies that they print - so, there are additional copies available for purchase.
I did not go with a print on demand publisher - it would great to only print what is ordered and at a much cheaper price, however, I could not sign away my ownership of my book.
Please email me at [ Tomclan@Gmail.com ] if anybody would like to buy a copy of : Tan Genealogy: Heritage and Lineage.

I just received my copy of Henry Tom’s book entitled "Tan Genealogy: Heritage and Lineage" on night of Saturday August 15, 2009 through Henry’s friend, Brian Jim On.
I stayed up well past 2.00 am totally engrossed in reading the book even though the book is not on my surname. I would strongly recommend that anyone of Chinese descent, not knowing how to read Chinese like me and who is serious enough in pursuing his own genealogical search of his ancestry, to read and be inspired by this book.
It is unfortunately that Henry printed only limited copies of the book and I am quite sure only very few copies are left, if not totally exhausted. If none is left, I hope Henry would consider a reprint if there is sufficient request. I would have willingly pay US$200.00 for the book instead of the asking price of US$100.00.
For one who does not read Chinese, this book by Henry is truly a labor of love. For one that is also keenly interested in my own Chinese genealogy, I can never dare dream of coming anywhere near to what Henry had achieved so far.
