I recently returned from a trip to Guangdong Province. We visited a small village Da wan Cun 大湾村 in the siyi region. My late mother was a Chan 陈。My great grand father 陈富宜 (22nd generation) migrated to the then British Malaya in the 19th century. I have obtained a family tree that goes back to the 20th generation 陈良胖。 I understand that my great grand father was related to Wong Ah Fook, a well known pioneer builder in Malaya/Singapore. My grand father (23rd generation) 陈禀宗 ( known as Chan Ah Poh in Johor, Malaya) was killed by the Japanese during the world war II. My current cousin 陈孟楷 is the 25th generation originating from ancestors in Da Wan Cun. I notice that the line follows some of the generation poem that I found in a posting by Damon in USA: 19th generation: (Haau Jung) b. 1892 (3 brothers total) This is the generation poem/names: Now I would like to know which Chen/Chan line I can trace back to in the Da Wan Cun village in Taishan 台山.
