It seems that my grandfather's last name is Chi ou Chu. In the village of Paobu he had a son who was a well known educator there and then opened a factory in Hong Kong during the 1960's. He has a grandson that is an actor in China we believe is known as Chu Kwon or Chi Kwon. The house my grandfather was born in Paobu existed in 1964 and his family were still. Hope you can help locate his family.

Chinagirl19us, Eugene translated the Chinese characters for your grandfather's name as: Zhu Jia Zhao (朱家兆). In Cantonese, your surname is Gee/Chu ( 朱 ). In the Village DB, I found the Gee/Chu clan village by the name of "Pao Bo" ( 泡埗 ). It was reported as being located near to Sui Nam ( 水南 ) village/town. I believe this is your ancestral village. Below is a map of the location of Pao Bo village. If you are interested in having my nephew visit your ancestral village and speak to the village chief and have him identify your relatives that still live in the village or acquiring a copy of your family/clan genealogy - you can hire my Taishan nephew to do the preliminary research prior to your visit to Taishan and he can also serve as your guide and translator during your visit. My nephew is quite reliable and he has helped several people from this Forum in their quest to visit their ancestral village, re-connect with village relatives, and to recover their genealogical lineages. Here are some references for my nephew: siyigenealogy.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=names&action=display&thread=821 You can contact him through me at : "Tomclan@Gmail.com" Henry mysite.verizon.net/vzepzaui/Pao Bo.jpg[/img]
