Tha family photo looked exactly like the pose for another family photo I have seen. Must have been the way they took photos in those days. 1970s?
What is the surname? Wang?

Since there are two distinctive Chinese characters for the surname Wong/Wang/Huang, 黃 (colour) and 王 (prince or king). Current convention is Huang/Wong for 黃 and Wang for 王. Which is yours? However, regardless of which both surnames are very common.

According to a census report conducted by the Zhongshan shi government, in 1990 there were 502 surnames being used in Zhongshan shi. Of these, 26 had a population of over 10 000. The surname "Wong"/Huang ranked second with 99493. The surname "Wong"/Wang ranked 32nd with 6981.
