I just got back from a trip to China, and discovered an organization in my grandfather's hometown that assists people from my family (Ho) in tracing their ancestry. I want to write them a letter, but need it translated to Chinese. Does anyone know where I can hire a translator to do this? I'm happy to pay, I just don't know where to find one.
Thanks.

where are you? maybe try a university near you - they may have Chinese students who want to practice their english with you.

editthis,
I agree with Helen. Your thank-you letter need not be so elaborate, so soliciting the help of a student or even new immigrant Chinese in the community (e.g., churches, businesses, and family clan organizations) is probably your best bet rather than paying the fees for a professional translator. You should first compose your thank-you letter in English before approaching the student or whoever with your transcribing request. That way, the person could easily assess that your request is not that complicated, and thus be more willing to help you.
