Hi everyone! Anyone here knows how to translate English name into Chinese? I have a Chinese ancestry on my father's side. My great grandfather is a full bloodied Chinese from China. I am from the Philippines. A Filipino. Our family don't practice any Chinese tradition. I never went to Chinese school, that's why I never had any Chinese name. I only want to know my Chinese name and its meaning. By the way my real name is Mary Rizel Sy
Anybody here who can help me?

I'm not too sure that an English name can be translated into Chinese. Maybe you need to work from your Great Grandfather's generation to get the correct last name, at the very least. Is there any way you can get an image of headstones, of the males in your family?

薛 / Sit / Xuē / sit3
This appears to be your surname. Just that you spell it differently.

the picture above is our SY clan logo. The character 薛 is your surname in Chinese, not a clan logo.

Since your name is Mary, common Chinese translation of which is 玛莉 , pronounced as ma li.
Put that together with your surname, your Chinese name would be 薛玛莉
